This is an important sculpture by Charles Haag, a Wilmette, Illinois artist, of Swedish descent, who was a sculptor and a builder and whose specialty was portraying mythological woodland men. Conversely, he also, did beautiful nudes.
This paricular piece was purchased from a historic home that he built. He was known as Carl as well as Charles.
