Large Bulbous Clyde Burt Vessel

This is a large statement making piece by American Studio potter Clyde Burt. At Cranbrook Academy of Art, he worked under Maija Grotell. He taught at the Dayton Art Institute and the Fort Wayne School of Art. He sold his work primarily in the Chicago area. Burt's work is in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. He won the Art Institute of Chicago Designer-Craftsman Award in 1957. He exhibited at the Ceramic Nationals from 1954-1958.
