Rare French Folies-Bergere Poster Brothers Bellonini

This is an exceedingly scarce lithographic poster promoting the 1884 appearance of the American "Brothers Bellonini" juggling act at the cabaret music hall Folies-Bergere in Paris. Further Billing derogatorily described the brothers as "White-Eyed Hottentots", however blacks in the later half of 19th century Europe, particularly France, enjoyed more personal and artistic freedom and a greater welcome onstage than their counterparts in post Civil War United States, attracting acts like the Bellonini's.

Charles Levy both designed and printed this poster at his eponymous firm "Affiche Americaine Charles Levy". There are minor professionally repaired tears at the margins but the condition is overall very good given it's age.

The dimensions of the print itself are 17.5" x 15.5". Framed dimensions are listed below.
