St. Tropez Painting by Edgar Rupprecht

This is a richly painted oil on paper. Rupprecht exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1960, and was a Homes prize winner in 1923. He studied under Hans Hoffman in Munich and became Hoffman's assistant at the schools' summer sessions in Capri and St. Tropez (1925-1929.) This piece was done between 1928 and 1929.
